About Kerb

Kerb is a UK car marketplace where buyers deal directly with checked dealers, and dealers keep more of what they earn.

We are early: the platform is built and live, and the first dealers are joining now. Running a dealership in 2026 is harder than it should be. Stock that doesn't move is expensive to hold, costs keep rising, and dealers say the platforms they depend on charge more each year, label their prices, and push standard listings below paid ones. Kerb exists to take that last part off the table.

Why I'm building Kerb

I'm Hans Mol, the founder of Kerb.

Listening to dealers talk about the big platforms, I kept hearing the same story: fees that rise every year, tools that sit between them and their buyer, labels on their prices they never asked for, and a feeling that they have no choice but to stay. When I heard it often enough, I recognised the problem. I have spent years building marketplaces on one idea: the platform should only earn when the people using it do. And I love cars. That part is simple.

What Kerb is for

Dealers keep more of what they earn. In this economy, every pound a dealer spends on advertising is a pound that is not in their pocket. Kerb should cost a dealer far less than they pay today, and nothing at all until it brings them buyers. For people buying a car, I want Kerb to become the natural place to browse and search.

What I will hold to, however big Kerb gets

  • Joining and listing are free. You only ever pay once you have agreed to, and only in a month Kerb sends you 3 or more buyer enquiries. You get an invoice every month with your enquiry log, and you can stop at any time. Your data leaves with you.
  • Every enquiry comes straight to you. Nobody pays to rank above you, and nobody puts a label on your price.
  • If our price ever changes, you hear it from me first, and you always choose whether to stay.

I don't need this to be a billionaire story. I want to make a living building something that is fair to the dealers on it and safe for the people buying from them.

What Kerb does

For dealers

List without the squeeze

No paid ranking, no price badges, and no fee unless you agree to one. You list, buyers find you, and you deal with them directly.

For buyers

Find a car. Contact the dealer. Done.

Search by make, model and body type. When you find a car you like, contact the dealer directly by message or phone. Kerb makes the introduction and gets out of the way. Free for buyers, always.

For dealers

We bring the audience

We feature dealers' cars in short videos and posts on Instagram, credited by name with a link back to the dealer. It costs the dealer nothing and needs no time from their team.

No featured listings. No paid prominence.

Kerb does not sell placement. Every listing is shown on equal terms, so what you see depends on the car, not on how much a dealer has spent with us.

Checked dealers

Before a dealer's first car goes live, we check 2 things. First, that the business is a registered, active UK company at Companies House with a motor trade activity, or, for sole traders, we review it by hand. Second, that the person signing up is connected to that business: either they joined through an invitation sent to the business's own email address, or we check them by hand before approving them.

Where we're going

Real Kerb Appeal is what happens when the right buyer finds the right car, from a dealer they can trust, with nothing in the middle taking value from either side.

That's the marketplace we're building. Not the biggest, the most trusted: a place dealers choose because it doesn't squeeze them, and buyers return to because what they see is real.

Common questions

What is Kerb?

Kerb is a UK car marketplace. Dealers list their cars with no paid ranking and no price badges. Buyers search, find a car they like, and contact the dealer directly.

Is Kerb free for buyers?

Yes. Searching, browsing, and contacting dealers is free for buyers.

How are dealers checked?

Every company is checked against Companies House: it must be active and in the motor trade. The person signing up must be connected to it, through an invitation sent to the business's own email address or a check by hand. Sole traders are reviewed by hand.

What happens when I contact a dealer through Kerb?

Your message goes straight to the dealer by email, or you call them on their own number. Kerb makes the introduction. After that, you deal with the dealer directly, and we are never in the middle of the sale.

Why are there no "Featured" listings?

Kerb does not allow dealers to pay for prominence. Every listing is shown on equal terms, so what you see depends on the car, not on how much the dealer has spent with us.

Where is Kerb available?

Across the UK. We are early, and dealers are joining now.

How do dealers join Kerb?

By invitation, or through kerb.autos/dealers/join. Joining and listing are free. When Kerb introduces a monthly fee, it only applies once you agree to it. After that, each month you get an invoice with your enquiry log: £0 in any month with fewer than 3 buyer enquiries. You can stop at any time.
